What the application asks for
- Ask in person or by email; most have no formal application
- Bring the date, format, expected attendance, and what you specifically need — room, food, money, or promotion
- Ask whether they can receive a grant check on your behalf if you are applying elsewhere
- Ask what they already have budgeted, since co-sponsorship is often easier for them than a grant
After the event — what you owe them
- Agree in advance who pays vendors and who keeps receipts, especially if they are receiving grant money for you
- Credit them in your promotion and send photos afterwards
